Ideally throw away the yellow part of an egg and only use the egg white Flour and whole wheat pasta are good healthy foods Avoid fatty dairy products. Use 2% skim milk only. If a recipe needs lots of cream think about using powdered no-fat milk paste. Use low sodium alternatives when available. Use brown rice instead of white rice.  Think meat as a side dish at best instead of a main dish and ideally try to avoid meat atleast 3 days a week..</p>
<p>3. Try and choose recipes that can be made faster using healthy cooking ingredients. A stir fry for instance hardly takes much time to prepare. Stir frying meat and vegetables is easy, but remember to employ fat-free meat and only fry them in canola or olive oil. This could then be used as a nice rice topping or can be spread on buckwheat noodles or wheat pasta. You can make swift and speedy steamed veggies that can be easily cooked in a microwave oven. You could also consider grilling, broiling and braising.</p>
<p>Also consider uncooked meals for the easiest preparation. Salads, sandwiches and wraps are healthy and only take a few minutes.</p>
<p>4. Whilst cooking meat it&#8217;s best not to store raw meat for long Ideally cook all the meat in a healthy way and store it in meal sized proportions. The same applies for vegetables. Cut vegetables and store in advance and use when needed.</p>
<p>5. Keep track of food you and your family enjoy and jot them in your personal cookbook. You could gather recipes in a binder and write down experiments that have been effective and have them available when you&#8217;re feeling bland. If you make substitutions, remember to note it on the recipe so you can recollect next time. Once you prepare a recipe in your binder, make a remark of anything you want to do differently next time and the time it took you to prepare it. This will help you whenever you plan future meals.</p>

<p>Its hard to put a number to enchilada recipes that are in existence right now. The variations are created in two ways. First by the kind of topping that is used. Traditionally, this has been chili sauce. And two, the kind of filling that is chosen. It could be anything from beef, turkey, pork, or even seafood. Bean fillings are available for those that dont take animal protein.</p>
<p>An enchilada recipe hardly takes time to prepare, with 30 minutes being more than sufficient to make, say a chicken enchilada dish. With ready flour tortillas and boneless chicken, the rest is pretty easy. After cooking the chicken, what comes next is adding the ingredients- onions, parsley, oregano, cheese and so on. Then there is the rolling them into the tortillas and covering them with your choice of sauce. Finally, you bake in a preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until ready. This is not much of a recipe to follow, but its aiming at demonstrating the ease in making the Mexican dish.</p>
<p>It is possible to make enchiladas into a casserole, but there are more steps involved. Tex-Mex recipes have come up over the years. These combine Mexican food ideas with American ideas, and what comes forth is simply outstanding.</p>
<p>Enchiladas are fairly easy to make. So no, you dont need to attend a culinary class to learn how to make them. The only thing you need to know is your kitchen, and its pretty much downhill from there. The secret is with trying easy recipes first, with few ingredients, before heading on to the more complex ones with a lot of ingredients.</p>

<p>Honey Puffs &#8211; Loukoumathes (Loukoumades) In many areas of Greece, Loukoumathes (also loukoumades) are a New Year&#8217;s Eve tradition, and also they are made to celebrate the name day of St. Barbara (December 4). The Greek Jewish community also includes these small honeyed puffs at Hanukkah. They are quick and easy to prepare &#8211; twenty minutes start to finish. Dish up hot or warm, and drizzle with honey just before serving.</p>
<p>Semolina Pudding &#8211; Halvas Halwas is a kind of grainy Greek pudding that&#8217;s very popular and made from nuts, semolina, cinnamon and raisins.Halvas is served at room temperature and is placed in a mold and cooked on the stove.</p>
<p>Sesame Honey Candy &#8211; Pasteli Nuts and seeds are used plenty to prepare this dish which is often called the energy bar. It is a great dessert to be eaten with tea and is said to give an energy boost.</p>

<p>Traditional Greek Spoon Sweets (Preserves) &#8211; Glyka Koutaliou Spoon sweets are similar to preserves, prepared with fruit, nuts, or vegetables, prepared with sugar to produce a thick syrup. Because they are so sweet, they&#8217;re served by the spoonful, therefore the name. A conventional offering to guests, spoon sweets can also be used as dessert sauces and condiments. They&#8217;re straightforward to make &#8211; mostly a matter of boiling the fruit with sugar. Decorative jars filled with these treasures are delightful gifts.</p>

<p>The Greek style of cooking has touches of both Roman and Turkish cooking and has over the years been inspired by several other culinary styles. Conventional Greek cooking uses fresh ingredients therefore it&#8217;s normal to shop daily for best results. Cooking is kept simple by permitting the taste of fresh ingredients, herbs and spices to shine through as opposed to covering them up. Grilling, baking, roasting, frying, and stewing are some of the popular cooking methods.</p>
<p>Many of the vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes are cooked using herbs, onions, tomatoes, oregano and sweet basil. Olive oil is the chief cooking oil. Greek salads are used as side dish with just about all non veg dishes and is made from onions, celery, peppers, cucumbers etc. Oregano, salt and pepper could be added to the salad as a seasoning together with a dressing of olive oil and lemon juice. The salad could have black olives and a soft salty cheese called feta. Lemon juice and olive oil is usually added to salads and then seasoned with salt and pepper.</p>
<p>Lentil and pea soups are extremely popular in Greece and are sometimes served along with the main course. Bread is usually dipped in the soup and salad is used as a side dish. A form of chicken soup called avgolemono is popular too and is often laced with lemon and served.</p>
<p>Lamb is cooked in a variety of ways. The Greek have a special way of cooking lamb that makes it very tasty. To make a Greek shish kebab pieces of lamb are marinated in olive oil, wine and lemon juice. Salt and pepper and a little oregano are added. The lamb is then placed on skewers and grilled. While cooking olive oil is rubbed over the meat.</p>
<p>Moussaka is one of the most a well-liked dishes in Greece. This baked dish comprises layers of fried eggplant and ground lamb. It is seasoned with tomato, oregano and bit of cinnamon. Grated cheese and white sauce and is added to the top then it is baked in the oven.</p>

<p>Catalan Cream &#8211; Crema Catalana &#8220;Crema Catalana&#8221; or Catalan Cream is the Catalan variety of the rich and delicate &#8220;crme brule.&#8221; It is also known as Spanish Fritters or &#8220;Crema de Sant Joseph&#8221;, traditionally prepared on March 19th, St. Joseph&#8217;s Day. <p>Polvorones &#8211; Almond Cookies Rich and flaky, these traditional &#8220;polvorones&#8221; is a delicious cookie, particularly favored in the Christmas season. As the name implies, they&#8217;re &#8220;dusty&#8221; &#8211; very classy and basically melt in your mouth!</p>
<p>Churros &#8211; Spanish Fritters &#8220;Churros&#8221; are fritters that appear like big French fries, but taste very different. The best way to explain them is to say that they are the Spanish equal of doughnuts. Instead of a ring like a doughnut, &#8220;churros&#8221; are long and straight and generally have ridges.
